About frame rate
The frame rate at which Dino lite displays real-time video depends on many factors, including Dino-lite model, resolution settings, exposure settings, current lighting, etc. The USB 3.0 Dino-Lite model has the best overall effect in terms of image quality and frame rate, providing images up to 45fps at 1280 x 960 resolution. Generally speaking, the standard model has a maximum frame rate of 30 fps at low resolution (640 x 480) and a maximum frame rate of 10-15 fps at 1280 x 1024 resolution. The maximum frame rate of the high frame rate model (such as 3713/3715) series at 640 x 480 frame rate is 60 fps.
Increase effective frame rate
If the frame rate is lower than expected, you can try the following methods to increase the frame rate:
Ensure that the computer meets the requirements of the Dino-Lite system (especially use USB 2.0 instead of USB 1.1)
Lower resolution
reduce risk
Disable auto exposure mode
Use external light sources to add more lighting
High speed (HS) mode setting
Some Dino-lite models have a resolution setting of "HS Mode" to give priority to high frame rates. This setting can be found in the resolution drop-down menu at the top of the live image window. When choosing this setting, a high frame rate is the most important.
Limit maximum frame rate
In some cases, it may be necessary to limit the maximum frame rate. For example, when using multiple Dino-lite microscopes on the same computer at the same time. To do this, close the DinoCapture software and open the DC20 with Notepad. The ini file is located in the following folder: C:\Users\(user name)\digital microscope\\file settings. In the section labeled [FRAME RATE], find the line similar to Frame_Rate_Max_4013=30 corresponding to the Dino-lite model you are using, and change the value 30 to a lower number, then save the file and reopen it DinoCapture 2.0.
