Dino-Lite handheld microscope: FAQ: I recently upgraded to Windows 8, and now Dino-Lite does not work
Windows encountered a problem installing driver software. Windows found the driver software for your device, but encountered an error when trying to install it. The hash value of the file is not in the specified directory file. The file may be a victim of corruption or tampering.
Windows 8 enforces driver signatures more strictly than previous versions of Windows. If you have an older Dino-Lite model, you may need to disable driver signature enforcement in order to use it in Windows 8. To do this, follow these steps:
1. Open the settings panel (press Windows Logo + I), select "More PC Settings" or "Change PC Settings" (at the bottom)> select "General"> find the advanced startup section, and then press "Restart now".
2. On the blue screen, select: Troubleshooting> Advanced Options> Windows Startup Settings >, and then click the "Restart" button.
3 shown. When the computer restarts, the startup settings will appear. Select "Disable Driver Signature Enforcement".
4 shown. After the computer restarts, connect to Dino-Lite via USB.
5. Open the Device Manager (Windows logo + X, then select Device Manager). Look for the device with yellow "!" or "?" under the imaging device. If the device is not found under the imaging device, please check under "Other devices". Right-click the device and select Update Driver Software. In the new window select: Browse my computer driver software> In the next window, click Browse and browse to the location of the driver to install (by default C:\Program Files (x86)\Common files\snp2std), select the folder Call "snp2std", click "OK", and then click "Next"
6. If the message "Windows cannot verify the publisher of this driver software" appears, please select "Install the driver software anyway" and the driver will be installed
